PLEASE NOTE: we have now reached capacity for this event, however, you can still join the waitlist for a space - as we know, things are changing quickly for many people at the moment, so if someone who has a space cancels their spot, this will automatically be released to the next person on the wait list.
Please join us for an evening celebrating the launch of the new book by award-wining poet, and long-standing Avondale resident, Janet Charman.
The Pistils is a dispatch from the cusp of change. It appears at the severing of a 40-year relationship following the illness and death of Janet's partner during the Covid restrictions. Here, she chronicles her experience with transition – to the digital age, to single life, to carbon neutral.
The launch will feature an introduction from Dr. Mary Paul, specialist in the literature of Aotearoa New Zealand, and a short reading by Janet.
Books will be available for purchase on the night for $25; please bring cash.
Please note vaccine passes will be checked at the door. Venue capacity is very limited, so only those already registered will be able to attend. If you are unable to attend, (and we understand plans are changeable at the moment) please cancel your registration so those on the wait list can be notified.
the pistils book launch is part of the Whau Arts Festival 2022. (Part Tahi)
